Deterministic Ethernet Bridging Across Automotive Media Types

Media Converter

Low-latency PHY-to-PHY conversion between 10BASE-T1S, 100/1000BASE-T1, and 10/100/1000BASE-T for bench setups and in-vehicle evaluation.

Overview

The Omnitrx Media Converter implements PHY-to-PHY translation with low-latency cut-through forwarding, enabling deterministic bridging between Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) and standard BASE-T Ethernet.

It supports link monitoring and frame-level diagnostics across heterogeneous media types, while preserving FD/TX and RX timing to maintain deterministic behavior in TSN and time-sensitive setups. This makes it well-suited for bench testing, interoperability validation, and in-vehicle evaluations where timing correctness matters.

The Media Converter is MCU-controlled, providing stable, predictable operation for standard conversion tasks and link supervision without the complexity of an external host or SBC.
